I am a beginner of jsp and servelet. Which book is good for beginners?
Thanks!

Assuming you want a tutorial where you sit down and read it, rather
than a reference where you dip into it and look things up, then I'd
strongly recommend
O'Reilly's "Head First Servlets and JSP"
http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/ASIN/0596005407/codesmiths-20
This is an excellent book and I like the whole "Head First" series.
Nice to see some decent books from O'Reilly again too.
It's good for a few reasons. It's a technically competent book, but
then so are many others. It's also written with the certification exam
in mind, which is useful to many of us. Mainly though I'd recommend it
because of the writing style. I've never seen a tech tutorial book that
was simply so interesting and engrossing to read. The style is
certainly unusual and you do need to _read_ it (whole chapters at
least) rather than just dipping in. It's so well done that you'll
simply want to keep reading though.

Ditto. This is a good intro, and it has enough technical detail to use
as a reference for a while. Eventually, you'll need to read the full
docs for each component, but you can get a lot of work done with this
book alone.

Thanks Andy and Mark!

I haven't read the "Head First Servlets" recommended by Andy, but
I'd recommend that you also read the actual servlet specification.
Even though it is not a tutorial, and especially claims to be written
not for servlet application developers, but for servlet engine
developers, I find it a good read for anyone writing servlet applications
as well. Also, as JSPs are an extension (or perhaps just a perspective)
of servlets, the information can largely be applied for JSPs as well.
There's also JSP specification to cover the JSP specific parts.
To top it all, both are free resources:

http://jcp.org/aboutJava/communityprocess/final/jsr152/index.html
Also, the J2EE Tutorial from Sun includes tutorial chapters on servlets,
JSPs and other related technologies. The tutorial appears to be geared
for Suns own application server, but much of the concepts are general,
so mapping the knowledge to f.ex. Tomcat shouldn't be too hard.
