Good Obfuscator

Thread view:
Ravi Shankar Nair - 04 Jul 2006 15:09 GMT
Dear all,

Kindly suggest few powerful and best obfuscators available (may be open
source or commercial). It should be suitable to an enterprise application
and I should have the facility to include or exclude files at my wish.

Thanks and regards,
Ravi

When I googled for "java obfuscator", I found an obfuscator satisfying
all the above within the top 5 hits.

But not necessarily a good one.  Obfuscators vary in their ability to
/obfuscate/, and unless you happen to be good at bytecode, or have a wide range
of decompilers handy, it's going to be difficult to tell which are good and
which are weak.

Hence, I imagine, the request for recommendations.

Unfortunately, although I do mess around at bytecode level, I'm not interested
enough in obfuscation (or decompilation for that matter) to have made any
attempt to evaluate the many available options myself.  Nor do I know of any
reasonably recent comparison review.

I am happy with Proguard.. Not just as a obfuscator but also a file
shrinker and optimizer.

Thanks in Advance...
