Hi there,
Just a little "heads-up" to people using the latest update of
ZoneLabs' ZoneAlarm with Eclipse on Windows (Windows 2000 in this case).
Upgrade to ZoneAlarm 6.5.714.000 will cause the Workspace files'
"Modification Date" to no longer be updated. This means all the CVS
synchronization will go down the tubes (in particular you will lose
any local changes when you do blind updates). Very very baaaad.
Took me a few hours to find the problem, I did a full upgrade of
Eclipse and the JVM, even rolled back the latest Windows hotfixes ...
to no avail until I found this:
http://forum.zonelabs.org/zonelabs/board/message?board.id=Antivirus&message.id=12034
Note that a test program run in Eclipse, i.e. code doing the usual
/open,write,close,sleep,open,append,close/ operations
works like a charm, i.e. modification date is updated correctly. Confusing.
So... out goes ZoneAlarm. And ... back to work. Yeah. That's about it.
Some keywords for the search engines:
Modify Modification Modified Date Time Problem Eclipse
Best regards,

Big surprise! i removed Zone Alarm 6.5.714 ...and everything is fine.
I am rolling back to Zone Alarm 6.1 (check out www.filehippo.com for
past revisions). or www.oldversion.com

And I have added ZoneAlarm to my blacklist of software vendors who cannot,
under any possible circumstance, be trusted.
/Gross/ incompetence.
