i am just starting to learn java programing.  i would like any
information that would be relative to someone new to programming.  any
info would be helpful.

Start from Java Tutorial by Sun Microsystems.
Browse online or download from sun.com.
Download a free book Thinking in Java from eckelobjects.com.
Do start Sun newsletter about Java like New to Java.

intially you can use java complete reference also. thats is simple and
easy to understand the concepts.

Download the JDK and the docs and start writing programs.  Go to
java.sun.com to start.  If you have any questions, just ask.
