"Librarian" script, anyone?

Thread view:

Hi, all!

I'm wondering if anyone has knowledge of a script that will let me
keep track of people taking/returning materials from our (small)
library.

I.e. there's a library of [less than 400] specialized printed
materials (books/others), and I would like to allow a group of
individuals (about 300 of 'em) access to any of these materials.

However, I do NOT want to chase people down & ask them to return the
materials after 30 days, so I would like the script to display the time
they've had the book for, *right on the page for everyone to see* - so
other users can E-mail Joe Schmoe who's been holding the book for >30
days and bitch at him. I'm not involved :)

I can set up a "sign-up / sign-out" page on our intranet... but I have
ZERO knowledge of JavaScript (and Java, before you ask ;) ), so I'm
trying to find something out there... Any help would be GREATLY
appreciated!

Please reply to this thread or E-mail "SilverSand2021@yahoo.com" if
you think you can help me.

Once again, thanks!

I could write one for you in Swing if you'd like, which does everything
which is little more powerful
that javascript, and does everything it does, without too much overhead.

Please e-mail me at jsnow@trytel.net if you are intrested.

Thanks
