Image meta data

Thread view:
Boris Gorjan - 25 Jan 2006 08:56 GMT
Given a byte array representing a jpeg, gif, png, etc., is it possible to
extract image meta data (specifically: dimensions) using j2se _before_ the
actual decoding (with ImageIO.read())? How?

How about using external libraries? Which ones (commercial and free)?

Thnx.

You could try Marco Schmidt's ImageInfo:

and if you want something lighter weight, see ImageInfo in the
common11 utilities package.  See
