I don't know Ant, but have spent 5 minutes browsing the documentation
to find the answer.
"**" matches multiple directory levels, so "**/*.*" matches all files
(with an extension) in the directory tree.

so, if the root dir has /dir1/dir2/dir3/dir4
then **/*.* from "/" directory would include all files from
dir1,dir2,dir3,dir4 ?

*.* means all file with a dot inside this Dir
and
**/*.* all file with a dot inside this Dir and the Subdirs
