Eclipse help

Thread view:
soup_or_power@yahoo.com - 14 Nov 2005 03:38 GMT
I need some directions on how to compile java sources checked out of
CVS using eclipse 3.1. I've set up a directory structure under
/user/workspace for the files and given all the jars in the BuildPath.
The IDE is unable to discover the classes in the jars and so highlites
the import statements as unresolved. This prevents me from compiling
the sources. Can anyone please help? To tell you frankly, I've an
O'Reilly book on how to use Eclipse. The book doesn't cover this part.
So I'm on my own. If you can't give me the directions, please post a
URL or suggest a better book.

Thank you for your time.

Way no!

The experts on Eclipse can be found here.
<http://www.eclipse.org/newsgroups/index.html>

Note that while 'newsgroups' is the top listed entry on
that list, I feel it should really only be for problems
that can only be expressed entirely without reference to
the original software product.

'How do I load a resource?'

OTOH, if it becomes..

'How do I load a resource for use in X software', it is
probably best to ask the manufacturer of X software (or
look into the forums/support they offer).

Hi all,
I have also a problem with Eclipse. Because I cannot start a new thread
in the newsgroup, I must put my question as a reply to this question.
Excuse me.
I've used Eclipse sometime ago and had no problem with the program:
I could use it to compile program and to run debug. But now, as I want
to
use it to debug a program, all the menu items for debug, such as
"step into", "step over", "terminate" etc are disabled. How can I
reactivate
these menu items? Thanks.
I use Eclipse 2.1.

I do not have an answer but would direct you to use the news.eclipse.org
newsgroups say like eclipse.newcomer. 2.1 is a very old version. You
could try a newer version of Eclipse like 3.1.1
