Nokia 30 platform

Thread view:
Bjorn Borud - 28 Jun 2005 12:29 GMT
has anyone here got any experience in using the Nokia 30 platform?
from what I've gathered, you can use this via AT commands or you can
use it via some sort of CORBA interface.  the latter is supposedly not
too robust.

does this mean that they implemented CORBA on the J2ME JVM running on
the Nokia 30 and were able to use the serial port directly?  if so,
would it be possible to implement your own protocol easily on these
units?

I'd be interested in any documentation or code for interfacing with
the Nokia 30.

No, it doesn't. Something like CORBA is unavailable on Java ME handsets.

the Nokia 30 M2M terminal isn't really a handset.  it'll fit in your
hand, but that's about it :-).

(anyone else know this device and the CORBA interface provided for it?)

That's irrelevant. The JavaME technologies don't support CORBA currently.

you didn't understand my question. I am fully aware of the fact that
CORBA is not supported on JavaME.  still, there is a CORBA interface
available for the unit, which begs the question how they implemented
it and exactly what it covers.
