I downloaded the jzlib. I also compiled all the java source code in the
com directory. how can I use these classes to deflate and inflate
files?

Did you look at the example code that came with it?  You'll probably get
more help if you post some code and ask a specific question.  Alternately,
see if there is a forum or mailing list devoted to the library so you can
get help from other people who use it.
