problems with ant

wondering if anyone has a clue what would cause this.  i'm trying to run ant
and get the following error:

[root@web3 current]# ant
Exception in thread "main" java.lang.NoClassDefFoundError:
org/apache/tools/ant/launch/Launcher

seems like you don't have the ant.jar in your classpath. what shell is
that you're using? i usually run ant with bash.

anyway, follow this link http://ant.apache.org/manual/install.html
for what environment variables you should have and you should be fine.
