java logging

Thread view:

Hi there,

I have used the java logging class to log errors to an xml file, I'm just
wondering if anyone knows of a simple program that will easily view this
files and allow them to be filtered by log level?

Regards

Jamie

The obvious answer would be to write one of your own using an xml parser.

Yeah i was just hoping to save a bit of time.

I assumed that seems logging was a standard part of java there would be lots
of log readers out there.

Thanks anyway.

At work, we use log4j for logging and chainsaw for viewing the (xml)
logfiles.
log4j can log to text files as well, but to my experience, chainsaw can't
process text files (chainsaw v. 2.0)
