on www.sun.com i only find java for os X :(

I know very little about the Mac JVM, but prior to OS X, the only
Mac JVM was available from Apple and it was fixed on Java 1.1.8.
It was called MRJ (latest version is 2.2.5 I think). You can get
it here:
http://developer.apple.com/java/classic.html
