JVM on WinXP

Thread view:
Bob Hartung - 18 Nov 2003 00:04 GMT
HI all,
I have need to use a java script over the web to access a
medical on-call teleradiology program.  I have installed the
java sdk-1.4.2 onto a clean WinXP install.  The applet that
is is not designed for java 2 will not run.

The "Internet tools->Advanced" check list on IE6 does not
list a JIT that is apparently needed to run this applet.  As
a non JAVA-enabled C++ neophyte physican is there any was to
get the functionality of the JIT that was present on Win2K
into XP so I can use my new computer or am I just 'SOL'?

Any help and or suggestions appreciated.

Thanks,

Bob Hartung

Have you tried any alternative browsers? Netscape 6 (or maybe it's 7)
runs Java applets under Windows 2000. Haven't tried XP. If it makes a
difference, installing the browser first and then the JRE is more likely
to work than vice versa.
