Benchmark jdk1.3 vs. jdk1.4

Thread view:

Hi,

We are in the step of selecting a new vm (embedded). The question is
which version of jdk it shall support. The battle stands between 1.4 and
1.3. I have not managed to find any benchmark statistics. Have anyone
else managed to find that information.

I have heard the argument that jdk1.4 will risk consuming more memory.
Can anyone comment that? Will not new versions of jdk be more efficient?

All hints are appreciated.
