I assume you are using IE7. This cannot be removed.
However, as I have just posted in c.l.j.p, this requirement appears to have
been removed in IE8 :-)

I think that is purely a Microsoft IE thing, part of Microsoft's war
on Java. I think there is a way of turning it off, but you must
loosen security generally.
