Great SWT Program

Thread view:
vijay.kumar.75in@gmail.com - 17 Aug 2007 16:02 GMT
Hi All,

Today I have downloaded a SWT Software which is great to its features.
You can learn
many GUI details out of it. The basic functionality is it lists IP
Addresses of the
remote PC's your system is accessing.

You may find the project under sourceforge.net

http://nettymaster.sourceforge.net/

You can customize this software, please let me know your views

though you are the owner? :p
by the way, nice program. I'll have a look.

I strenuously object to the dishonesty of
> Today I have downloaded a SWT Software which is great to its features.
coming from Vijay Kumar, not coincidentally owner of the site's copyright:
> Copyright (C) 2007 Vijaykumar B.V.

That Vijay Kumar feels the need to resort to lying completely invalidates any
value his little project might provide.  Don't come across all disingenuous,
Vijay, you are a liar and a cheater.  Not an honest person.

And why refer to the "General Public License Agreement" under which you
release your software but not show us the content of this "agreement"?  Are we
expected to buy a pig in a poke here?

Furthermore, how is it that a "Software [sic]" is "great to its features" is
any benefit?  We want it to be great to its users.  Who cares how well its
features are treated?

Haven't we seen this kind of ludicrous dishonesty from Vijay Kumar before, or
was that someone else pulling the old, "I found this great software (but don't
tell anyone I am the publisher)" lie?

I suspect it is any number of people.  I have seen this
form of 'I found' rubbish numerous times, about numerous
different URL's.

It seems the multi-posting spammer's mistakenly think..
- ..that a second-hand report sounds more convincing
- ..that it will not be recognised for the lie that it is
(excepting perhaps by those very new to usenet -
who are sometimes fooled).

AFAIR, the term 'astro-turfing' comes close to describing
this behaviour, though usually the astro-turfer's are smart
enough to neither multi-post, nor *initiate* threads.

I also initially suspected astro-turfing, however, only closer inspection,
this appears to be more of an issue of "english as a second language". When
he says "Today I have downloaded a SWT Software..." I expect he is trying to
say "Today I have uploaded..".

Also the line "You can customize this software, please let me know your
views" implies that he would like feedback on the software (which implies he
wrote it).

If he wanted to astro-turf, I would think he would be smart enough (having
written the software) to use a fake email address that does not contain the
same name as the one listed on his web page.

Whatever you do, I should NOT deserve "1 start" rating to this post,
and I am not asking for "5 starts". Unless you find it very poor
posting otherwise leave it alone.

Yug3sh might be right about typo or "english as a second language".
It was just my question. I did not go into arguing or criticising,
infact I find the software quite useful in the way it's showing me
about using eclipse RCP.

Whoever did that, you can learn to do thing more careful next time.
Use brain, don't use force.

Please entirely ignore those silly Google Groups 'star'
ratings - the more you pay attention and comment on
them, the more people* will 'use them against you'.

See this thread for an example.
http://groups.google.com/group/comp.lang.java.programmer/browse_frm/thread/2be9e
9db2daa3627/4df2e47c2ddccf5f

I recommend you read the entire thread, to get a feel
for what these 'stars' are, and how they are seen,
and by *whom* (the irony is that a lot more people
become aware of a 'star' rating when it is commented
on).

* Specifically - petty people with no lives, who lack the
courage to make a public comment on the group.

If 'Google stars' was the most harmful way for them to
express their 'force', I'd say - leave them to it - until they
leave their teens and can actually converse with others
like adults.
