Images and Outlook

Thread view:
jonathanm@usa.com - 02 Sep 2005 16:04 GMT
I'm having a problem when I copy an image to the Windows System
Clipboard.  When I copy an image I'm able to paste it to Word and Excel

but no Outlook.  In Outlook I see a boundary but no image.  It's seems
like Outlook can't read the image or the image isn't complete in the
System Clipboard, but that can't be the case because I'm able to paste
it to Word and Excel.  The version of Outlook is (9.0.0.7303) SP-3.
The version of Java is 1.4.1 and higher.  Does anyone have a clue or
code snippet that'll resolve the problem?

I asked this before, but I didn't get any response.

Thanks,

Jonathan

This prooves, that it is not a problem of Java, but one of Outlook.
Hence, report this bug to Microsoft.

I wouldn't call this "proof": perhaps the image into the system
clipboard is malformed, but Word and Excel are more lenient.

   To the OP,
Have you tried pasting the imagine into non-Microsoft and non-Java
programs?

I didn't try to pass the image to a non-Java program or non-MS program.
I'm not too concern with apps that aren't from MS-Office.

Well, presumably apps that are from MS-Office aren't java programs,
right?

The reason I recommend you try this is to check in fact if Word and
Excel are somehow being "extra lenient" with the incoming data. But then
again, I'll agree with Thomas that the most likely reason for this behaviour
is a bug in Outlook.
