JInternalFrame iconified frames repositioning after a JFrame resize

Thread view:
Anon - 25 Feb 2005 00:50 GMT
Hi All:

I "used" to know this years ago as I had to do it.   I know it was not much
code.

If I have a JFrame with it's root content pane being a JDesktopPane "and" I
have some iconified JInternalFrames sitting comfortably hugging the bottom
part of the "viewing" area of the JFrame, how can I reposition those
iconified JInternalFrames to sit at the "new" bottom part of the "viewing"
area "after" the user has resized the JFrame's viewing area?   Currently, if
one resizes the JFrame to be "smaller", the inconified JInternalFrames
become "hidden".   I need to move them automatically in my
componentResized() method of my WindowListener for the JFrame.

thanks for any input!!!

All the best.

Hello Anon,

you might have a look at
 http://www.javaworld.com/isearch?qt=scrollable+desktop&site=javaworld&ms=1&tid=1
&st=1&rf=0

There you can find some articles about contructing an MDI. I do not
know if you will find exactly what you were asking for---but those
articles show how to write your own DesktopManager to control the
desktop pane, and that is imo. the solution to your problem.

Greetings

thanks Dirk!   i'll check out the site.

As I recall, it was only a few lines of code to do it.  I wish I would have
archived the example years back.
