1.4 look and feel with 1.5

Thread view:
Rob McDonald - 11 Feb 2005 14:17 GMT
I'm in the middle of documenting a program I'm working on (imagine that),
and I realize that I forgot to take a screenshot of one menu.  No big deal,
fire the app up, do another grab and be done.  Murphy's law... I upgraded
from Java 1.4.2 to 1.5.0 since taking the screenshots.  And of course, I'd
rather not have to re-do them all.

So, is there a way to get the default 1.4.2 look and feel under 1.5.0?
Without downgrading or finding a machine with the old version?  I'm running
on Win2K.  Changing to UIManager.getSystemLookAndFeelClassName() is pretty
close, but not exactly the same...

Thanks in advance,

Set system property 'swing.metalTheme=steel'. E.g. by starting your
application like
  java -Dswing.metalTheme=steel -jar YourApp.jar
