JTextArea question  rows, columns

Thread view:
Fuddzy - 15 Jan 2005 03:05 GMT
Hello

I am a newbie and trying to use JTextArea

JTextArea(int rows, int columns)

How does one control input into a particular column on a particular row.
Example:
suppose   JTextArea  JTA = new JTextArea(3, 3)

what code do I use to input or append and format
"11" into the first row
and "2" onto the second row
and "333" onto the third row.

the displayed result of JTA should hopefully display as
  11
   2
 333

thanks

JTA.setText("11\n2\n333") ;

That might work. If you want more control/functionality use a
JTextPane.
