I tried it again.
And I must admit Thomas was right and I was wrong.

model.setRoot() does the job.

It would be helpful if you would do a "Reply" to an existing message
rather than start a new topic for each message.  Without the threading, it
is very difficult to know what the "it" you are referring to is.

You seem to be posting using Google Groups.  In that case, just press the
"Reply" link at the bottom of the message.

I agree, I had noticed it before but was too byuy to chase it up
at the time.  I suspect the problem lies here (from the headers
of the unthreaded post)
