JFileChooser for FTP browsing

Thread view:

Hello,

I'm completly new to Java (only some initial .Net experience) so
excuse my maybe trival question.
I've to implement a FTP browser with a reduced feature set. To do this
I used the JFileChooser with a SystemFileView. But I see now the
initial FTP directory, but I cannot navigate deeper. How is this
triggered? Can this be done via the implementation of the
SystemFileView class or what have to be done?
2nd question is that I always get the local drives/directories in the
directory combo box. Thats useless for a FTP scenario. How can I
change the filling behavior?

Maybe someone can give me an idea how to implement this step by step
by a newbee (instead saying RTFM :-).

Regards

Joe
