Logging of this newsgroup?

Thread view:
Martin Siegumfeldt - 15 Jan 2004 19:27 GMT
Are the conversations in this newsgroup logged on a webpage? I posted a
question
some months ago for which I would like to read the replies again. But
unfortunately my
newsreader has deleted it?

Regards

Martin

Yes, articles are archived (unless the author sets certain headers to
indicate that he doesn't want his articles archived). The most
prominent public archive (actually, the only one I'm aware of) is
Google Groups: <http://groups.google.com/>.

Depending on your news server you may be able to retrieve the articles
again. But news servers typically only store articles one to six
months.

You can go to Google news and find old postings.

That's their news (as in "what happened around the world") service.
You mean <http://groups.google.com/>.

sprinkled little black dots on a white screen, and they fell thus:

Not just one webpage, a whole site archiving nearly every 'group on Usenet.

Create archive folders in your newsreader.  In future, copy messages you
want to keep into them before they expire.  Personally, I archive every
thread I participate in.

Stewart.

My e-mail is valid but not my primary mailbox, aside from its being the
unfortunate victim of intensive mail-bombing at the moment.  Please keep
replies on the 'group where everyone may benefit.
