Server Socket and Database (SAPDB)

Thread view:
Jan-Hendrik Lendholt - 27 Apr 2004 15:22 GMT
Hi Folks,

normally, I do not habe that much problems using google or something
like that to find any results, but this time i'm really without any idea
left.

I need to realize the following:

I have a secure connection over JSSE and SSL to a Server-Programme
running under SuSE Linux 8.2 with JDK 1.4._02.
The Server and clients are able to communicate, e.g. I can let the
Server Programm execute an SQL-Statement.
The server shall read in an SQL-Statement which was submitted by the
client.
This SQL-Statement is being processed and a ResultSet is returend by
JDBC (which works in that case on a SAP DB).

By definition, the ResultSet ist just a pointer on the Resultsets
fitting on the queried data and is just a NULL Pointer, if the
connection to the Recordset is lost once.

So, do you have any ideas on how to transmit the data from the Server to
the client?

I am quite sure about having read something about servlet <-> Applets in
Webbrowsers, but I have no idea on how to realize that in a complee Java
Application.

I hopfe someone can help me, I would be very thankful!

Best regards from Hamburg/germany,

I could not complete understand what you want, but
it is a way how to setup Linux to use secure port. So you write your
client/server program normaly, just setup that DB communication goes thrue
that secure
port. About making secure ports ask it at some Linux newsgroups.
