Thread view:

Hi all,

Does anyone know of any articles, which describes DAO layer performance
tuning? I'm having some performance issues with data access through this
layer. Some advice on DOs and DON'Ts are welsome.

Thanks in advance,
koluwa

DOs
The two most straight forward ones...
*  use connection pool
*  use prepared statements.

DOs
Depending on what spec of JDBC your driver supports:
if JDBC 2.0
* use batch updates.
DONT's

* dont close the connection, return it to the pool.

Hope this helps,
Sorry if the answers where too basic.
