how to increment record serial no automatically while inserting records.

hi,

Hi my Q is How to increment record serial no while inserting records
using servlet to MS-Access database.

My idea to do this by first taking the max no. of the row and then
increase that value by one. but unable to do.

The best way is to include a column in the database table itself that is
defined with auto increment. Access and numerous other databases
support this feature.
