Questions 10/15/07

Thread view:

My view disappears into the blackness when I translate more than a
certain number of meters away from it.
My bounds is 3000 meters, the thing is about 20 meters wide, 5 meters
high.  I have four point lights.
Is it that the lights need to have more distance, the bounds, or
what?  The view seems to disappear when I get about 20 or 30 meters
away from it.

Also, how do I control the brightness of directional light and ambient
light?

Have you set your clipping distances right?

Clipping distance is only part of the View class.  I am not using a
View.

I just took the "Advanced Java 2 Platform" by Dietel Java 3D example
and used that as a blueprint to make my own Java 3D stuff.

I read the API docs very carefully and did the following.

Created a Clip object, and set the background distance to a
sufficiently large number.
Set the bounds for this clip as the SphericalBounds object I was
using.  SphericalBounds is a derived class of Bounds.
Added this Clip object to my TransformGroup.  Which is a derived class
of Group.

Viola!

Actually, don't you mean "Voilà"?
