The GeoServer Team is pleased to announce the second release candidate of GeoServer version 1.3. The Geoserver project acts as a thin, portable, OpenGIS-compliant web services layer on top of existing data sources.

This release is mostly focused on fixing minor bugs that have been reported from the first release candidate, the biggest being finally removing dependencies on JAI for all operatoins. The release is made in conjunction with the GeoTools 2.1.0 release.
