The JOnAS open source implementation of the J2EE specification project has announced the release of a 4.5.3 release candidate.

It provides the following enhancements since 4.4.x:

* Domain Management: deployment at the domain level available in JonasAdmin
* New version of CMI (now working with JORAM, and refactored)
* Web Services Management features (based on WSABI, included in JonasAdmin, visibility of deployed web services)
* Web Services Security
* Stateful Session Bean Passivation
* New versions of Struts (1.2.7) for JonasAdmin, and of HSQL (1.8.0.1)
* Web services now deployable with Jetty (pseudo JSR77 MBean for Jetty)
* New medor/jorm/perseus
* Performance improvements (some optimization have been done, + new CMI, + new JORM/MEDOR)
* New JORAM version (with new MBean for additional management features)
* newjc tool, to help building cluster configurations
* New example showing the Usage of Hibernate inside JOnAS
